ABOUT NAREB DALLAS
Reimagining the Dream of Homeownership through Advocacy, Activism, and Action
The Dallas Association of Realtists® (DAR)—formerly known as the Dallas Association of Real Estate Brokers (DAREB)—was founded in 1956 in Dallas, Texas by visionary leaders whose wisdom, foresight, and determination helped shape the organization’s foundation.
For decades, DAR has played a vital role in advocating for fair and equal housing opportunities, while working to ensure that communities have access to quality housing and the resources needed to achieve sustainable homeownership.
As a local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), the Dallas Association of Realtists continues its long-standing commitment to promoting Democracy in Housing and advancing opportunities within the real estate industry.
Our Mission
The mission of the Dallas Association of Realtists (DAR) is to promote and support the professional growth, leadership development, and business opportunities of African American real estate professionals in both the residential and commercial real estate sectors.
Through advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, we strive to ensure that all citizens have access to equal housing opportunities while supporting local businesses and strengthening the real estate community throughout Dallas.
Our Legacy since 1956
For more than six decades, the Dallas Association of Realtists (DAR) has been a pillar in the Dallas real estate community, advocating for fair housing and expanding opportunities for homeownership.
Founded in 1956, DAR was established by visionary leaders committed to creating a professional network that would support African American real estate professionals while addressing the barriers to equal housing. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, the organization has played an important role in advancing access to housing and strengthening communities across the Dallas area.
Today, DAR continues to build on that legacy by supporting the next generation of real estate professionals, fostering business opportunities, and working alongside community partners to promote sustainable homeownership and economic empowerment.
As part of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), the Dallas Association of Realtists remains committed to the ongoing mission of achieving Democracy in Housing for all.
